Tribes: The Soul of Trail Roots

FullSizeRender-preview.JPG

Over the years we have been refining ways to keep our runners connected and on top of their game. Our small tribes live and breathe the core of Trail Roots. We live to unplug and lace up, playing in the woods is more fun together, and stepping outside of our daily comfort zones is when we come alive!

The tribes are what Trail Roots is built on. When a new member joins, that person is connected with a Koda (Tribe Leader) , which means friend/ally. We choose the tribe for each member based on their goals, pacing, and where they live. Our goal is for our members to be able to connect during the off days and develop relationships outside of the group runs. By connecting those who have similar goals and can run together, this is the starting point.

From this point, the Kodas take over and welcome the new members. Kodas introduce new members to their tribe and join them for their first trail run together. They share common goals, interests, and open up about their journey. To keep current members connected, the tribes participate in group challenges, quarterly happy hours, and the tribe leaders help watch your back. When you need support at your race, you can reach out to your tribe. Need help finishing your last long run? Your tribe is there! If you’re feeling in a slump, your tribe members check in with you and listen. We got you.

Here is a list of our current tribes, Kodas, and what makes them special!

HokaHey

Led by Matt Fletcher and Sam Labrie - 6:30-9 min on roads and 7:30-9:30 on trail. Race distances range from 10k - 100 mi.
