Rogue Trail Series is joining Trail Roots
July 16, 2024
We are very excited to announce that Rogue Trail Series is now part of Trail Roots!
The Rogue Trails Series was founded in 2003 and is the oldest competitive trail racing series in Texas. It is iconic for being a gateway series. Many new runners and long time road runners have been lured into long-term, vibrant trail running careers through their experiences with the Rogue Trail Series. Races are 10k, 20k, and 30k and originally started out on trails all within Austin. Since those days the race locations have expanded to outside Austin. Our goal is to bring them as close to town as possible while increasing the race experience for all participants. Races have recently included:
The Maze (Walnut Creek / Austin in February)
The Tangle (Flat Creek / Johnson City in March)
The Stampede (McKinney Roughs / Cedar Creek in April)
The Ranch at (Reveille Peak Ranch / Roam Ranch / Burnet in June)
Trail Roots hosts a number of uniquely Texan trail races and ultras throughout the state. Trail roots also manages one the largest trail running and training communities in Austin, TX. With this increasing growth, head coach Erik Stanley said, “It is an honor to support one of Austin's longest standing trail races. I can hardly wait to share the future announcements we will have on this!”
As part of these changes, The Tangle will race will be merged into the Texas Switchback. We are currently lining out dates for the Maze at Walnut Creek as well as our 2nd race to be held either at Mckinney Falls or Reimers Ranch. We will have that information within the next few weeks.
