Texas Trail Championship

Trail Running Series

The Texas Trail Championship heralds the top trail runners in Texas and dates back to 2013. The Texas Trail Championships was initially created by Joe Prusaitis to encourage more participation in the Tejas Trail races. After seeing success he opened the series up to other established races throughout Texas. Each year at the Bandera trail race awards were given out, and the highlight was the team championship won a Yeti cooler full of beer. The cooler had their team name engraved on it and was passed down to the new winner the following year.

Scoring

Each finisher earns a cX Score™️: speed multiplied by the course difficulty (cX Rating™️) for each race. Race placement isn’t a factor. There are 2 primary categories (described below). Teams are 6+ runners. Co-ed teams must be 50%+ female. We will calculate your best races into these categories. Awards will be announced at the Big Bend Ultra for the previous year’s winners. Your race distances do not have to match; the cX Rating automatically accounts for course difficulty with a slight bonus for longer races.
